WIQ-Part 1
Red, it was everywhere. On the floor, on his hands, and over the man lying lifelessly at his feet. But more importantly, in his eyes. In the dark, he loomed menacingly over a figure, who laid immobile on the ground. Only with time did his violent stance lessen, turning into an unnerved posture.
After multiple shaky breaths, he managed to awake from the nightmare in his thoughts. Only to finally see the one before him, all too real. He dropped the switchblade he held like it was burning his trembling hand, let it collide with the corpse below.
He would have pondered the factors that had caused him to commit murder… if not for the fact that he heard something far more troublesome than his current sight. With a flinch, he turned his head towards the steps that echoed at the end of the tunnel. Someone roamed the train station, and it would not be long until they reached the spot of the crime.
What the young woman heard while she crossed the tunnel was a faint dash. She did not catch how the hooded man ran for the exit, nor how he hid the blade nearby. It took some seconds for her to spot the dead bum some steps ahead. She slowed her pace, confused to see a homeless man sleeping on the cold ground. After all, there was a bench nearby.
“Hello?” She was alone and could not see him clearly. Not something she was comfortable with. “Excuse me-”
She came close enough. The only sound that was heard next was her horrified scream, once she saw the blood.
